East Anglian born and raised singer-songwriter Jess Morgan makes folk and roots music that is inspired by both British and Celtic folk and Americana.
The product of the best ‘happy accident’ Jess has embarked upon to date – Jess’s first full length album ‘All Swell’ is released April 2010 on Amateur Boxer Records. With no capital, no contacts and no idea what to expect... Jess jumped on a plane to Norway last year where she found herself adopted into the vibrant Americana scene in Bergen, touring and making the record.
Jess has a distinct voice and style and an approach to song-writing that is extremely evocative and much of her repertoire involves plots and characters anchored in real places and times. Jess has so far has been championed by DJ Steve Lamacq and last year earned her a place on tour with Ben Taylor and support slots for touring acts: Teddy Thompson, Eileen Rose, Megson, Rod Picott and Amanda Shires and more...
Jess is now gearing up for a three-week coffee-house tour of New England including gigs in Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Cape Cod, Rhode Island, New York and what will be the ‘Bruce Springsteen Pilgrimage’ New Jersey.
