60% at half way mark + new tourdates! 02/12/2012
Well... once again - WOW! My Pledge Campaign is now at its half-way mark and we've hit a whopping 60% of the target. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing this is - I'm so glad to have you on board and to all those who have already made a Pledge (that is, a pre-order of the album), my sincerest thanks. WHAT ON EARTH IS PLEDGE? Well... Pledge Music is essentially an online shop... with a challenge! I'm taking pre-orders for my new album'Aye Me.' The basic 'Pledge' is just £8 and you get the download version of the 13-track album early before its official release day of March 26th. OR you can choose from the download of the album PLUS a very special, hand-made or limited edition extra - I have tote-bags, posters, T-shirts and even Aye Me on C90 cassette tape. By far the most popular pledge so far has been for the CD version of 'Aye Me' - signed and posted. Will all the optional extras you do get the download version of Aye Me too. Take a look: www.pledgemusic.com/projects/jessmorgan To say thank you I've also been posting special updates available only to Pledgers. There are live sessions of some tracks that didn't quite make the album. Expect more interesting things in the pipeline! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ TOURDATES Album Launch Tour Dates: 3/26/12 NORWICH The Bicycle Shop Album Launch Gig 3/27/12 CAMBRIDGE Hot Numbers3/27/12 BIRMINGHAM (BalsallHeath) Ort Cafe tbc 3/30/12 BEDFORD Holy Moley's (@ Esquires) 3/31/12 NOTTINGHAM Guitar Bar 4/1/12 SHEFFIELD The Shakespeare 4/2/12 YORK The Basement 4/5/12 LONDON The Lock Tavern 5/2/2012 LEICESTER THE MUSICIAN Supporting Mawkin 5/18/12 EXETER Bike Shed Theatre 5/19/12 WINCHESTER Discovery Centre Supporting Polly and The Billets Doux I'm also EXTREMELY pleased to announce the following tour dates with the incredible Paper Aeroplanes - check them out:- www.paperaeroplanesmusic.com “Intimate, jaunty and confident lo-key pop with great melody .” The Guardian 5/24/12 NORWICH The Bicycle Shop 5/30/12 MILTON KEYNES The Stables 5/31/12 BATH Chapel Arts Centre 6/1/12 ST AUSTELL Eden Project Café 6/2/12 CALSTOCK Calstock Arts 6/3/12 FALMOUTH Miss Peapods And finally... just a few more dates for your diary... 3/23/2012 CAMBRIDGE Cambridge Folk Club (@The Golden Fleece) Supporting Lady Maisery 6/6/2012 SEATON, E.DEVON The Grove Pub 6/16/12 DEVON Lapstock Festival 6/17/12 WALTON-ON-TRENT The Big Session Festival 6/29/12 GLOUCESTER Winterwell Festival 7/14/2012 Ely Ely Folk Festival 7/20/12 COVENTRY Ditch The TV @ The Maudslay Pub 8/17/2012 WELLS, NORFOLK The Granary Theatre with Brookes Williams 8/26/2012 SOMERLEYTON the FOLK EAST FESTIVAL Add Comment New Album Launched Today! 01/23/2012

If you fancy a sneak preview - heres a hat-full of songs destined for the new record recorded expecially and exclusively for the lovely people at Folk Radio Uk - a wonderful resource for finding out about new music and well worn folk tunes. If you haven't tuned in let... please allow me to try to tempt you in FRUKIE SESSION This latest session from Jess Morgan is simply stunning, the perfect early Christmas present. Many listeners will be familiar with Jess’s music which we have featured in our Folk Radio UK playlist. She hails from Norwich, England and in her music draws on British and American folk influences. She is a talented guitarist, as this session will show, and has a unique warm voice that draws you in. Her lyrics reflect her natural ability to transform the everyday into unique moments in time. She accentuates her delivery with impeccable timing of acoustic and vocal inter-play making her live performances both captivating and memorable. She is a great talent and one I hope we will see a lot more of on the live folk circuit in 2012. Norwich Hostry Festival 10/19/2011
Hi Everyone, This is what I'm doing on Saturday and Oh Boy OH BOY I've been looking forward to this one for a good long while. The setting is beautiful and the quality of the other performers is really worth coming to see I promise you. There are loads of really great bits of theatre, film and more music to see throughout the festival - check out this video... my bits a few seconds in! 'Prize Pig' never sounded so swish! Mix-tapes 08/02/2011
I spend A LOT of time in my car... not as much time as Gren... but a lot of time . Living in Norfolk really is a labour of love sometimes! SO... I came up with a plan to ask people at gigs for their new music recommendations and to build a tracklisting for a mix-tape. This is the first one:- put together by the kind folks at A Midsummer Night's Scene at Bedford Holy Moly's on 30th July 2011 Ignore what the weather is telling you... 07/13/2011
Let me assure you it is Summer and despite look and feel, we are heading toward the middle of July... Which means its time again for FOLK AND BLUES ON THE HILL Last year this was a fantastic run on really unique gigs put on at Hindringham Church - St. Martins on the Hill. Please come and see me play there this Thursday 14th July. 8pm Start. Here's a bit of location info:- http://www.achurchnearyou.com/hindringham-st-martin/ Weekend of super-dooper-swell gigs! 07/05/2011
Its the big one... its the one I;ve been looking forward to the most... since I sent off a copy of 'All Swell' and my application form to the panel at Ely Folk Club. I was chuffed and a bit to be named winner of their competition and given the opening slot at Ely Folk Festival this Friday. Tickets have sold out - but I reckon I should get something posted on youtube in the following weeks. I'm playing a set at Ely Folk Club the week after on July 13th - so if you missed me at the festival be sure to catch me there. Saturday night takes me to beautiful Holt which I think we'd call North Norfolk where there's going to be a fundraiser for Quiddenham Childrens Hospice. Tickets are £5 on the door and there's a mix of music, comedy, song and even puppets! Starts 8pm @ Holt Community Centre, Kerridge way, NR25 6DN. Sunday night will be spent at Peterborough's own music festival. I'll be on the mainstage in Central Park at about 5pm. Its a FREE event and there'll be lots of music to come out and hear. Lets hope the weather holds up. Check out my gigs list for more info about this Summer's gigs... West Norway -- East Anglia 05/30/2011
Iceland sprung another leak... I'm just back from another fantastic week in Norway. This time I played shows at Meieriet - a really cool studenty venue in Sogndal. A Friday night - 11pm start - the place packed out and everyone quiet as mice! Seriously, I was really humbled by the enthusiasm of the audience. Thanks to those who showed up, bought CDs and gave me the best gig of the year I think, so-far. The next nightI went up into the mountains - past the longest and deepeds Fjord in the world! I played a gig at Turtagro Hotel in Jotenheimen to a mix of hotel residents and locals. What an incredible place. I think it was at this point that I decide to name this tour my 'Rolls Royce' tour... thanks to all the luxury hotels and dinners and my my, the breakfasts I encountered! Even the cross-country coaches were fit for royalty! I was pretty impressed by my flights with BMI too - its really nice when you have the option to include your musical instrument in with your luggage allowance. It really annoys me when I have to fork out to take my guitar abroad! - free drink and a sarnie on the plane too. Rolls bloody Royce! Back at home, having been slightly jossled by the ash-cloud, I sat down at my computer and confirmed a number of smashing summer gigs - so please take a look at my list... I played a great gig at The Albatross in Wells on Saturday - thanks to everyone who came along and listened so intently. On Saturday night I popped along to what has swiftly become by favourite club-night - the singer-songwriters night at the CB2. Its put together by Dave Streatfield and John Meed who are quite possibly the coolest guys in the game. I love this night! Songs and Friends, very simply. If you want to check out my pictures you can see them via. Facebook www.facebook.com/jessmorganmusic Jess x 3 sleeps to go... 05/16/2011
Just 3 more days and I'll be off again back to beautiful Bergen - and in May as well - what a treat. Lets hope a bit of that heat wave comes back for a visit. I've got a couple of shows booked - with the ever fabulous Mr HP Gundersen accompanying me on pedal-steel and slide guitar. Were at Meieriet in Sogndal (http://meieriet.no/) then at lovely hotel Turtagro in Jottenheimen. I'll be doing a bit of songwriting and recording with my band project 'The White Mercedes' then hopefully a final solo gig at a cafe called Vagen in Bergen town itself. I'm really looking forward to this week! In other news |
